Production of healthy and delicious food for the growing population of the world

Salmon farming helps ensure the world's growing population access to healthy and nutritious food through resource-efficient production of high-quality proteins with a reduced environmental impact.

Excellent taste, simple preparation and well-documented health benefits are vital drivers for the increased global demand for salmon. Kverva, through its ownership in Salmar, meets this trend through continuous investments in innovative technology and solutions for sea-based salmon farming.

We have barely seen the start of the industrialisation of salmon farming and Kverva, will continue to invest in, and further develop, the industry together with Salmar. The future is resource-efficient, healthy and delicious salmon.

Kverva’s largest exposure is the stake in SalMar ASA, which is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. SalMar is among the world’s leading salmon producers; managed from its headquarters at Frøya in the county of Trøndelag. The company conducts salmon production in Central – and Northern Norway, Scotland through Scottish Sea Farms and Iceland through Arnarlax Hf. In 2017, SalMar became the world’s first aquaculture company to start up with offshore farming in the North Sea off the coast of Central Norway. In addition, SalMar has considerable processing and slaughtering activities in their facility InnovaMar at Frøya and the soon to be InnovaNor plant, which is under construction at Senja.
