Kverva AS is a privately-owned Norwegian investment Company specialising in aquaculture and marine resources. We believe in the global, long-term demand for seafood and marine resources and the vast value-creation opportunities that exists within these areas for both society at large, local communities, employees and owners.
Based in Trondheim, Norway, we have a global perspective and invest in and actively support development of companies across the value chains of the aquaculture and marine resources industries.
We are active long-term industrial owners and offer companies and their teams knowledge, experience and a network, combined with capital and a dynamic approach.
Our investment strategy is founded on a fundamental understanding of the industry and thorough research which has enabled the company to create significant value since inception.
Kverva was established in 1991 as a holding company for the ownership in SalMar ASA – today a publicly listed company with Kverva as the majority stakeholder. SalMar is currently the fourth largest salmon producer in the world.
In 2006, following 15 years of development and growth, a stake in SalMar was sold to financial investors. The proceeds from the transaction enabled Kverva to establish itself as an industrial investment company with a diverse portfolio of investments in 2007.
We have since leveraged the know-how gained from establishing SalMar as a global leader in salmon farming, to invest in and actively develop marine and aquaculture businesses. Kverva maintains a strong capital base and is well positioned for investing in future value-creating opportunities.
