Our history

Kverva was established in 1991 as a holding company for the ownership of SalMar ASA –  today a publicly listed company with Kverva as the majority owner. SalMar is now the fourth largest salmon producer in the world.

In 2006, following 15 years of development and growth, a stake in SalMar was divested to financial investors. The proceeds from the transaction enabled Kverva to establish itself as an industrial investment company with a diverse portfolio of investments in 2007.

We have since leveraged the know-how gained from making SalMar a global leader in salmon farming, to invest in and actively develop marine and aquaculture businesses. Kverva maintains a strong capital base and is well positioned for investing in future value-creating opportunities.
